15 years ago, the unforgettable saga, Om Shanti Om, was released on November 9, 2007. It was directed by Farah Khan just after the super-successful, Main Hoon Na (2004). And just like her directorial debut, Om Shanti Om also starred Shah Rukh Khan. The actor-director jodi became a hit and many appreciated the fact that Farah presented him in a novel fashion in both movies.

In the book ‘The Making Of Om Shanti Om’ written by the film’s writer Mushtaq Shaikh, some interesting trivia regarding the bond between Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan has come to the fore. At one point in the book, Farah reveals why narrating a script to him is a daunting task. To quote Farah, “He is one of the worst persons to narrate a story to. He has this deadpan expression on his face. But the minute I had finished one of the mother scenes, I could see he was very excited doing the 70s thing and using actual people in it”.
She adds, “He had actually once suggested to place Main Hoon Na in the 70s.” Farah Khan also mentioned in the book that Shah Rukh Khan was pleasantly surprised when he saw Main Hoon Na as he didn’t expect it to be such a big-scale film when he read the script.
Towards the end of the book, Farah tells Mushtaq Shaikh that she would love to see Shah Rukh Khan doing more such films as Om Shanti Om. She says, “I am the only director who makes macho movies for Shah Rukh Khan. Everyone has him doing girly movies. I hate it when he does this weepy, mushy stuff.”
