St. Paul’s has recognized winners and runners-up for its sixth annual business awards.
St. Paul has finalized and announced the winners for the 6th Annual Business Awards, with five St. Paul businesses winning.

St. Paul (MN) – today, The St. Paul City Council has announced the winners of the sixth annual St. Paul Business Awards and will recognize the five winners and runners-up and all nominees and other businesses that have chosen to work in St. Paul with a reception at City Council Meeting 1:00 p.m. on October 26. This event is open to the public and all are welcome.

The awards recognize local businesses that provide critical services, contribute to the city’s community, invest in their employees and are committed to St. Paul’s values ​​of equity and diversity. Businesses are selected for the award in one of five categories based on nominations from the community.

“We had a great line-up of nominees this year! Thank you to everyone involved in the annual business awards, from the organizers to the applicants to the class committee and beyond,” said Council President Amy Brandmon.

“Our local businesses are the heart of our community. The St. Paul Business Awards give us an opportunity to honor our business owners for the hard work they do every day and say thank you for doing business in St. Paul,” said Council Member Rebecca Knocker.

With more than 100 businesses nominated for the 2022 awards, the importance of St. Paul’s business community is evident. St. Paul’s businesses play a vital role in the city’s economic well-being and should be recognized for their commitment to continuing to be business partners in the fight against the disease and the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.

The winners and runners-up for the 2022 awards are:

  • ABC Realty LLC – Alice O’Brien AwardCelebrating a woman-owned business committed to equity and empowerment. (Runner: in black color)

  • Hmong Village Mall – People’s Choice AwardCelebrating business excellence recognized by St. Paul residents. (Runner: (Swede Hollow Cafe)

  • Mr. Michael Recycles Bicycles – Good Neighbor AwardHonoring a business that demonstrates a commitment to improving the community. (Runner: (Vig Guitar)

  • NEOO Partners Inc. – New Kid on the Block AwardCelebrating the number of businesses that have opened in St. Paul in the past five years. (Runner: Think about it.)

  • Selby Wines & Spirits Inc. – Award of traditionCelebrating a business that has been operating in St. Paul for at least twenty years. (Runner: (Westside Hair Care)

A selection committee that reviewed the applications and selected the winners consisted of previous winners from the St. Paul business community. The committee includes the following

  • Abdiwali Ali, Caribbean Grocery & Deli
  • Choua Vang, Golden Harvest Foods
  • Kathy Sundberg, GINKGO Cafe
  • Tameka Jones, Lip Esteem LLC
