There are four tiers: 4 GB for $25, 10 GB for $35, 15 GB for $45, or unlimited for $40. If you pay for one year at a time, the price is the lowest. Mint has discounts dropping prices to $15, $20, $25 and $30 for the first three months. If you choose to pay every three months, these prices will return to the actual rates, but if you decide to pay for one year, you can expect a discount. There is a small discount if you commit to six months at a time. Mint does not include wireless taxes and fees in the price.
Mint offers a one-week free trial of the service. Download the Mint Mobile app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and try a limited version of the Mint plan for free, either by sending a SIM card by mail or using an eSIM if your phone supports it.

Best for rural areas

It was our favorite until Mint rolled out its unlimited plan, but it’s still a great deal if you prefer Verizon’s cellular coverage, which is far away or rural. 99% of the population covered in the US is covered by visible claims. It’s owned by Verizon and uses that network exclusively (which means it’s not technically an MVNO).
Visible’s base plan costs $30 per month per line, including taxes and fees. It comes with 5G and 4G LTE coverage, as well as unlimited talk, text and data. There’s also a top-tier plan: Visible+. $45 per month for one line adds 5G Ultra Wideband – fast 5G service bandwidth – unlimited talk, text and data in Canada and Mexico (for US customers) and US to international calling and texting to “30+ and 200+ countries” respectively.
5G data speeds are capped at 200Mbps, which is fast enough for most tasks. During periods of heavy network traffic, Visible deprioritizes customers who share Verizon’s cellular infrastructure. For the Visible+ plan, this starts after 50 GB of data usage. If you bring your own device, Visible Device will give you a gift card worth up to $200, depending on the device, which is $100 less than the maximum amount offered at the end of last year. You need to pay the service charge for the first three months and port the old number first.
