Still on her world tour, Billie Eilish is currently making a stop in Sydney, Australia, where she broke out her best Clueless-inspired outfits. Sharing a selfie on Instagram Stories, Eilish showed off a white button-up shirt and a green and black striped sweater vest she was wearing over it. Fans of the beloved ’90s flick will remember that Cher Horowitz was also a fan of the cardigan look, but favored it with pleated skirts and over-the-knee socks. While the rest of Eilish’s ensemble isn’t visible in the specific photo she shared, it’s possible she styled the layered top with something similar.
Layering, of course, is a summer-to-fall transition styling trick that ensures you get the most out of your wardrobe all year round. Vintage pieces like cardigans and fitted sweaters are also ideally suited for layering, so it makes sense that Eilish has been leaning towards a variety of ’90s and ’00s-inspired fashion lately. She just posted a carousel of images of herself sporting sweat suits, slip dresses and off-the-shoulder dresses while hanging out in Tokyo. And, before that, she was spotted in a high-slit vintage lace skirt and moon boots during a stopover in Singapore. The 20-year-old “Happier Than Ever” singer even leaned into the ’90s logomania trend in photos for her Gucci eyewear campaign, wearing a sheer mesh top with the design house’s interlocking G print.
Since Eilish’s tour is still underway, there will likely be many more new outfits to look forward to in the near future.
