(WSVN) – Chocolate, blondie, red velvet or PB&J, Crisite Besu has a golden touch when it comes to baking brownies.
Christy is the founder and CEO of Eat Me Guilt Free, a South Florida company specializing in “good for you” baked goods.
The idea started a few years ago when Christy was working as a nurse and sports nutritionist. Her customers are always asking how they can satisfy their sweet tooth without feeling guilty.
Christy Besu: “And that’s when I started to realize that there was nothing like baked goods on the market.
So Christy went to work in her kitchen.
The result? A brownie made from protein powder and other healthy ingredients.
Christy Besu: “So I had to use protein and make it taste good and have the right texture, so that was a little tricky.”
Once Christy figured out the right mix, her brownie business took off. It moved from Cristie’s home kitchen to a commercial home.
As her kitchen grew, so did her taste.
Christy Besu: “We always have five main flavors and often another three that are seasonal and in and out.
And that’s not all.
Christy’s made more baked goods!
Eat My Fault Free recently expanded the line to include tortillas, bread and cake mixes.
Christy Besu: “And it’s very similar to the usual, like eggs and oil and mix, and then you’re done.
Eat Me Guilt Free products are available at The Vitamin Shoppe and GNC, as well as online at walmart.com and Amazon.
Christy Besu: “Slowly but surely we are making a footprint.
But this is not enough for Cristie.
She is dedicated to helping other women achieve their dreams of becoming business owners.
She has started a “You Glow Girl” giveaway. It provides support to entrepreneurs with an award of $10,000.
This year’s winners are creators of new dating and social apps.
Christy Besu: “It’s not just like a prize or a grand prize of $10,000. It’s a little more general. We support their mental health and physical health throughout that year.
The “You Glow Girl” grant has received hundreds of applicants and Christy expects more.
She also expects Call Me Guilt Free so she can continue to grow.
Kristi Besu: “I mean, you know, I see it disrupting the food industry because, you know, we’re attracted to not only making things that are delicious and healthy, but something that makes us a little bit different. For the masses.
And thanks to her already sweet success, she’s well on her way to achieving her goal.
