Spartan Construction of Burlington is celebrating 40 years in business.
The construction company is led by Diane Brossart of Fort Mitchell and employs 30 people who contribute to safe and sustainable infrastructure in more than a dozen states.
The family business works on communications and community on road and airport projects, utility and pipeline projects and even race tracks.

“Spartan has always been groundbreaking – literally and figuratively,” said Diane Brossart, president of Spartan Construction. “Our approach is the same as when we started. Spartan works to create, create, and safely complete and research projects that connect people and places.
Forty years ago, Diane was a pioneer in the construction industry as the head of a highway contracting company. Even today, only 14% of construction executives in the United States are women, according to Darcy Associates.
Sparta has decades of great achievements to celebrate. In the year In 1998, Spartan was recognized as one of the nation’s top 300 federal highway contractors. In 1999 Construction Digest As part of the team that rebuilt Kentucky Route 9, he credited Spartan with his success in turning the landslide-prone road into a stable five-lane highway a decade earlier.
“This anniversary is really a celebration of our team,” Brassart said. “Spartan talent and dedication take on challenges in a way that helps grow the entire industry,” she says.
Over the years, Spartan employees have contributed to updating regulations used by transportation departments nationwide, from drainage to inspections. Spartan team members are active in safety efforts such as Kentucky 811.
“Moving forward, Spartan is cutting edge in everything from roads to pipelines and innovating environmentally safe materials and processes in trenchless services,” she said.
Among today’s projects – Spartan is working hard at international and regional airports in Indiana and Kentucky to help and support logistics growth for the entire country.
Spartan has two Northern Kentucky locations and a regional office in South Carolina.
