According to the ‘Aviation Oscars’, Delta has been ranked the best US airline.

  • Delta received the highest ranking among all US carriers in the 2022 World Airline Awards.
  • Southwest ranked 35th, followed by JetBlue at 41st. Alaska, United and America were behind.
  • Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and Emirates took the top three spots on the list.

Among US airlines in the ranking of 100 outfits worldwide, Delta took the first place – reaching number 24.

Airline standards organization Skytrax this week announced the 2022 World Airline Awards, dubbed the “Oscars of the aviation industry”.

Skytrax has rated 100 carriers based on passenger feedback covering cabin and airport services and on-board products. Boarding assistance, accommodation and check-in procedures and baggage delivery are also included.

Of the 350 airlines included in the survey, Qatar Airways ranked highest, followed by Singapore Airlines and Emirates. It is Qatar’s third consecutive win and seventh since the award was launched in 1999.

Southwest Airlines trails Delta more than ten spots at No. 35, followed by JetBlue Airways at 41. Alaska, United and American Airlines ranked 59th, 60th and 68th on the list.

Delta won two other awards this week from FlyerTalk, which conducts online surveys and public voting, for ‘Best Promotion’ and ‘Best Loyalty Customer Service’ for its SkyMiles program.

“It was an honor to represent Delta and more than 80,000 colleagues at these events in London,” said Clare Black, Delta’s general manager of home markets, in a statement.

“It’s humbling to know that our customers vote for them and it shows that our product investments have been well received. The Employee Award is a testament to how our people around the world make the Delta difference every day and provide great service to our customers.”
