Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon were loved onscreen pairs. Their scintillating chemistry was adored by the audience. They have worked in many films together and garnered adulation. They both have even worked with Rekha in a film when the dating rumours had cropped up Rekha and Kumar. At that time Tandon made the clarification in an old interview that nothing was going on between them.
In 1996, rumours about Rekha and Akshay’s romance started as they were working on a film Khiladiyon ka Khiladi. A tabloid had started the buzz of their link up. That’s when Raveena Tandon in an old interview with Reddit cleared up the rumours.
She was quoted saying, “I don’t think Akshay ever had anything to do with Rekha. As a matter of fact, he would run away from her. Akshay tolerated Rekha because of the film. At one point she wanted to get lunch dabbas for him from home. That’s when I put my foot down. I felt it was taking things a bit too far.”
For the unintended, the rumours of Raveena and Akshay dating had riffed up in the 90s. The ‘Dilwale’ actress revealed that the two started dating in 1995 but didn’t make it official. She also mentioned in the interview that the duo got engaged in the late 90s. Both actors got closed after working together in the film ‘Mohra’ in 1994. The film also had a sensual romantic number ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paan’, which showed their sizzling chemistry. The duo parted ways in 1996.
Meanwhile, the Atrangi Re actor got married to International Khiladi co-star Twinkle Khanna in 2001 after dating for a few years. And the Andaz Apna Apna actress tied a knot with businessman Anil Thadani.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be seen next in Rakshabandhan slated to release on August 11, 2022, and Ram Setu in the pipeline scheduled to release on October 24, 2022. He has Gorkha and remake south Indian film SooraraiPottru. While Raveena Tandon was last seen in the hit film KGF 2.
