Apple in 2010 A foldable iPhone could be released in 2025, according to an Apple Insider report. The phone is expected to have a flexible OLED display, and will ship with new features. The report says that there is enough evidence to suggest that iPhone fluff exists, but that Apple will never release it.
According to the report, the internal prototype is either a tablet that folds into a phone or a clamshell design that opens up to a full screen, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
Early rumors about the device suggest that Apple is working on a device similar to Microsoft’s Surface Duo, and that the iPhone 11 will have a hinge between two displays.
According to rumors, Apple has started testing these two folding designs – clamshell and dual screen. Apple is conducting feasibility studies on OLED and Micro LED displays.
Reports seem to be mixed on when Apple plans to launch the foldable. Analyst Min-Chi Kuo believes it could happen as early as 2023. Other rumors point to later dates – 2024 or 2025.
