Apple is developing the new Teacup for its electric vehicle project, Project Titan. Project Titan started its life in 2011. In 2014, Apple hired a shell company, SixtyEight Research, to work on the car project.
Bob Mansfield, who was Apple’s VP of Technology, currently leads the project. With all the restrictions and the wider industry panic slowly easing, Apple seems to want to get back on track with Project Titan, the report said. Two years have been lost and it will take a long time to recover the lost work, he added.
Meanwhile, earlier reports suggest that Apple has hired veteran Ford executive Desi Ujkašević as the iPhone maker prepares to launch an electric car in 2024, according to various media outlets.
