Who is hiring?

What skills are employers looking for?

With the growth of job postings, employers have increased their searches for skills in cloud computing, TypeScript, Go, R and CSS.

Where are the tech jobs?
Large tech hubs like San Francisco, Chicago, New York City and Atlanta continue to see significant growth. Despite its 56 percent growth, Seattle dropped out of the top 10 tech hubs by 2022.
The two cities with the highest job posting growth were in Florida: Orlando at 111 percent and Miami at 101 percent. Detroit saw 90% growth; Houston and San Antonio each saw around 80%. Portland increased by 76% and Phoenix by 69%.

Don’t live in a major tech hub? Most states are seeing tech hiring growth, including Alabama (120%), Iowa (118%), Louisiana (136%), and Vermont (171%). There are five exceptions where tech hiring is down: Alaska, Wyoming, West Virginia, Montana and North Dakota.
If you’ve got the skills (and good broadband), you don’t have to live in a major tech hub: remote work is still an option for many companies, and job boards allow you to post remotely if you need to.
Will growth slow in the second half of 2022?
