Bergdorf Goodman celebrates 50 years of W in fashion

Anyone walking down 5th Avenue this September will find, among the many shopping opportunities, a number of eye-catching tributes to W. Three of Bergdorf Goodman’s legendary windows are decorated in honor of the magazine’s 50th anniversary, our logo is large and mixed with designs from the latest collections against the backdrop of our latest supermodel covers. Just inside the revolving doors, a towering red neon sign W it casts a bright red glow on anyone who admires the rich array of accessories.

Tuesday night, W editor-in-chief Sara Moonves, Bergdorf Goodman senior vice president of fashion Linda Fargo and model Precious Lee, who appears on one of the September 17 covers, hosted an in-store cocktail party to inaugurate the exhibition and celebrate five decades of fashion and fabulousness. .

The guests gathered on the third floor of Bergdorf, where W old and new covers cover the walls and at the intersection of Proenza Schouler and Loewe there was a “newsstand” filled with piles of our September issue. No one seemed to be showing signs of Fashion Week fatigue: unlike your average store party, the crowd danced late into the night to DJ Isaac Hindin-Miller’s mix of nostalgic and contemporary beats, drinking champagne and blood. orange margaritas to refuel. It happened to be Lee’s birthday, so the hosts surprised the model with a colorful cake from Gigi’s Little Kitchen, a bakery known for its whimsical, dairy-free desserts. Lee ended the night surrounded by close friends and her “number one fan and hype wife,” her mom, blowing out her candle as the crowd cheered.
