The “Dynamic Duo” mother and daughter team has been making Albuquerque parties and events more fun for years. But now, both have recently quit their other jobs to become full-time balloon artists, so they can offer their exciting balloon creations to more customers.

Dawn Warnock started balloon art when she wanted to create something unusual for her husband’s 50th birthday. She was talented and obsessed. So she got licensed and certified and has been creating custom balloon art ever since.
Warnock quickly brought her daughter Brianna Lewis to the team. Both are Qualatex certified, an in-depth certification process that takes weeks to prepare and includes a 4-6 hour practical and oral exam. Warnock explained,
“This certification process makes us unique. The process is difficult and requires a lot of time and commitment. But we are committed to being at the forefront of balloon art, so maintaining certifications with Qualatex is important to us.”
With the business expanding and custom balloon art in high demand, Lewis and Warnock recently quit their other full-time jobs to make urban balloons at Dawn their full-time career. With their increased presence, they hope to expand their grab-and-go services and large-scale installations.
“We pride ourselves on custom designs and sculptures—we always say, ‘If you can dream it, we can make it.’ We love show setups and installations, and we love being able to work with clients on their big vision for an event.
However, with elaborate party scans, Warnock and Lewis are still very much practicing in classic balloon designs. Classic designs like balloon arches are prevalent in schools and corporate gatherings, and balloon columns are a classic design that brings color and playfulness to any event.
Urban Balloons by Dawn makes their balloon designs even more accessible by offering them as grab-and-go offerings. Columns can be mounted on the back of an SUV, so if the customer wants to save a little money or control the pickup, grab-and-go is a great option. They have started making garlands as grab-and-go offerings.
