BLACKSBURG, Va. – The NC State track and field program recently traveled to Blacksburg to compete in the Virginia Tech Invitational, their second meet of the season. The Wolfpack saw several athletes set personal bests and look senior. Timara Chapman Women’s 500m She set a school record.
Women’s 500m Timara Chapman She broke the school record with a time of 1:15:58. The Wolfpack senior’s performance earned her second place overall in the event. Behind Chapman was the NC State junior. Carolyn LewisSet a personal best in the 500m for the second year in a row at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Her time of 1:16:85 now ranks third in NC State history.
Ali Henson She got the Wolfpack off to a good start on the day with a time of 8.61 in the women’s 60m hurdles. After advancing to the finals, she clocked her first time of 8.54 to finish fourth. She is now tied with her teammate for the sixth fastest time in Wolfpack history. Mikieja Covington.
Wolfpack Senior Jirah Sidberry She represented the Pack in the women’s triple jump finals, finishing first with a distance of 12.71m (41’8.5), which now ranks her as the fifth best time in school history.
The Wolfpack had some veteran talent in the boys triple jump as a senior. Jamar Davis He placed third overall with a jump of 15.25m (50’2.5).
In the men’s weight throw, NC State freshman Nathan Law He took eighth place with a best distance of 16.16m (53’0.25).
The Wolfpack had two athletes set personal records and finish in the top 10 in the women’s shot put. Macaulay Wright He placed third with a throw of 19.05m (62’6.0″). Mahkayla Hart He placed ninth with a throw of 17.15m (56’3.25).
