Citigroup hires three for China securities business – source

HONG KONG, Sept 8 (Reuters) – Citigroup ( CN ) has hired three bankers for its proposed China securities business, a person familiar with the matter said.

Kenneth Kuhn has hired Rochelle Wayne from JPMorgan ( JPM.N ) to lead its futures division as the company’s chief executive, and John Lun to lead offshore equities trading.

Citigroup declined to comment.

Ku and Lu did not immediately respond to a request for comment on LinkedIn. Wei did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

Ku was previously Citigroup’s principal representative in the mainland joint venture with Orient Securities, which ended in 2019.

Bloomberg News first reported the new appointments on Thursday.

Last year, Citigroup applied for a mainland China securities license in a push to boost business in the market. Read more
