Clark-Cowlitz Fire Chief Michael Jackson has been named the Washington State Fire Marshals 2022 Fire Marshal of the Year. Members of Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue’s Community Risk Rescue crew nominated Jackson for this award, describing him as one of the most proactive and innovative firefighting leaders in the state.

Jackson earned a Bachelor of Science in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology from Eastern Kentucky University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington.

Columbia Credit Union welcomes Sheriff Burzik to its commercial lending team to lead the credit union’s small business operations and support in the greater Vancouver and Portland metro areas.

Burzik discovered his passion for community and small business banking after moving to the Pacific Northwest in the early 2000s. He has served on the boards of many local organizations, and has served on the WSU Diversity Advisory Board and is a director for Colleagues, the Clark College Foundation and the Watershed Alliance. A member of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Burdzik has served the City of Vancouver on both the Fire Services Delivery Committee and the Police Department’s Community Task Force and currently serves on the City’s CDBG, HOME and Affordable Housing Annual Review Committees. Safeway Pharmacist Delaney Santon of Washougal was honored with the Pharmacy Technician of the Year Award as part of SingleCare’s American Pharmacists Month celebration.
