Company banned from doing business in North Dakota – InForum

BISMARCK – A Las Vegas company called New Life Institute and its owner, Edward Baca III, are now banned from doing business in North Dakota, Attorney General Drew Wrigley announced Thursday, Jan. 19.

This happened after an elderly woman paid $844 for what she believed was a product to treat macular degeneration, according to a Wrigley statement.

Macular degeneration is a disease that blurs central vision as people age.

The woman did not receive the product she ordered from Nu Life, but the seller said he sold her makeup, according to Wrigley. NuLife has refused to refund the woman and has not cooperated with an investigation by the attorney general’s office, Wrigley said.

“The refusal of NuLife Institute and Edward Baca III to cooperate with our investigation is shocking,” Wrigley said in a statement. Non-cooperation is irresponsible and unacceptable, and we do not tolerate risk of further harm to our users.

A message left at the Las Vegas Forum for Now Life was not returned at press time.
