Council to celebrate the region’s rich business history at a gala event


WAUSAU – The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce will host its 110th Annual Gala on Wednesday evening, September 14. The gala is one of the Chamber of Commerce’s signature annual events and an opportunity to celebrate the Chamber’s long and rich history. and its members. The event will feature live big band music, fine hors d’oeuvres, prizes, antique cars, historical performers and more.

“Looking forward to 2022-2023, the council will continue to lead the region forward in working with partner stakeholders to implement the goals set out in the region’s economic development plan.” said Dr. Dave Eckman, President/CEO of the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce. “The Anniversary Gala will be an exciting evening as we look back at our region’s business success stories and kick off a promising new program year for the Council.”

Check-in for the Holiday Gala begins at 5:15 p.m., and the program begins at 6 p.m.

The event will also include the introduction of the Chamber’s new Chairman, Paul Lapree of Myron Construction, and the new members of the Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. The event will recognize outgoing chairperson Nicole Williams of the QPS Employment Team and outgoing directors.

In addition, recipients of a pair of awards will be named at the event: the Rudder Wear Innovator Award and the Chamber Ambassador Achievement Award.

The Ruder Ware Innovator Award was established in 2015 by Ruder Ware LLSC in memory of G. Lane Ware. G. Lane Ware was an accomplished attorney and consummate professional with a sincere desire to make the Wausau community a better place to live and do business. Ware recognized that to be successful in business, to remain relevant in a changing economy requires innovation and differentiation.
