Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday that India has discussed with the US about the delays in issuing business visas to people from India and there is a good feeling among the Americans.

“We’ve had a very good response to our inquiry that granting long-term business visas to India is an area that needs to be accelerated in the interest of both parties — American businesses and Indian businesses. Trade and investment and business need to be expedited so that business doesn’t suffer,” Goyal said in India. – He told reporters at the conclusion of the US Trade Policy Forum meeting, which he co-chaired with US Trade Representative Catherine Tay.

India, Goyal said, has requested the US to expedite issuance of regular business visas to people entering for short-term visits to pursue business and commercial interests.

“We are very pleased that professional and skilled workers, students, investors, business travelers, all are expanding between the two countries, which has helped us to enhance our bilateral relations,” he said.
