Weird to sexy! Emma Chamberlain is not only a coffee expert – she also shows the latest fashion trends.
The YouTube star single-handedly transformed how Gen-Z dresses through her killer looks, first catching fans’ attention in 2017 with her YouTube channel, which featured her sifting through thrift items in which only she could see the potential.
Her second-hand finds included rugby shirts with oversized stripes, quirky patterns and graphic tees. With a simple cut, cinch, or pleat, she brought the previous items back into fashion.
Aware of her unconventional fashion choices, she implored her viewers to follow her vision through the tests she posted via YouTube. “Next, I have this shirt, which is weird. So just follow me here,” she said in June 2017. “After I turn it into a t-shirt, you can determine what you think of it.” While some followers doubted the vision, the owner of Chamberlain Coffee turned a dated exercise ball into something Urban Outfitters would promote.
Bringing back trends we never thought would resurface, Chamberlain and her two best friends in 2018, Hannah Meloche AND Ellie Thumann, made scrunchies and Birkenstocks “cool” again. The trio gave a personal touch to the items making them look modern and their style took off among teenage girls.
After moving to Los Angeles in June 2019, Chamberlain’s style began to evolve into a more city girl aesthetic. Always opting for leisure, Chamberlain paired long-sleeved graphic tees with denim shorts with longer layers than were fashionable at the time.
In 2019, the Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain podcast host began working with Louis Vuitton, marketing her designer clothes. Starting simply by donating her bags, the brand slowly brought Chamberlain into the limelight. In 2019, the California native was invited to her first fashion week and even interviewed at the Met Gala in 2021.
Although she is often seen in designer threads, her street style is comfort over fashion. Brandy Melville’s twist on the casual, an everyday outfit for Chamberlain might include simple polos, pleated trousers and a cardigan.
