With Donald Trump running for a third term for president, one fashion expert believes it’s time for his wife, Melania Trump, to step up her fashion game. Miranda Holder, Your Feel Good Fashion Coach, thinks the former first lady should look to Kate Middleton for ideas on how to warm up her personality.
Holder explained in the UK wont that Melania “looked a little cold” when she was in the White House making her feel “untouchable” when she was “dressed in the most expensive clothes.” The stylist thinks that the former model lacked a little humanity in what she was doing. To remedy this situation, Holder recommends she take a page from the Princess of Wales’ fashion book.
“What Kate has done so well is that she is still relatable. Kate is ‘ordinary’ in the royal family and has done very well for herself, but we all know where she’s coming from,” Holder explained. She added that it should make Melania feel “a little bit closer and accessible” to the public by choosing designers that are within the reach of the average American’s wallet.
Melania could “just mix and match a little more to show some humanity and humility through her outfits,” the fashion expert noted. Holder doesn’t expect Melania to take her advice, because she’s pretty sure they’ve been consulted and advised that Melania should be more accessible, but they want to do it their way. Melania’s way means high fashion, which is well beyond the means of most people’s budgets, so don’t expect any change on the Trump fashion front.
