Georgia Tech WBB came up short at No. 16 Duke

After a good first half, Georgia Tech women’s basketball was unable to sustain its momentum and was upset against the No. 16 Duke Blue Devils (16-1, 6-0).

The Yellow Jackets led 15-13 after the first quarter as Kayla Blackshear led the way with six early points. Duke jumped out to a quick 5-2 lead, but Tech battled back to lead by two late in the first quarter.

The trio of Blackshear, Tony Morgan and Cam Swartz each scored buckets and the defense played hard, which was the theme of the first half. Tech took a one-point lead into the half, but that’s when Duke turned its offense and started to chip away at the game.
