Global Fashion Collective x NYFW S/S23: GFC Ⅱ *HHIHLIGHTS*

September 11, 2022 – New York City, New York – at 608 Fifth Avenue

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, September 20, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — For the Spring/Summer 2023 New York Fashion Week (NYFW) season, the Global Fashion Collective (GFC) proudly highlighted 12 international designers in three different showcases . The GFC II exhibition featured designers from the United States, Japan, Canada and India. The GFC aims to highlight emerging designers and provide them with a platform during the world’s most prestigious fashion weeks. This organization has previously presented at New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week and Tokyo Fashion Week.

LUNALEE was created by Parsons BFA graduate Luna Lee, a Korean-American designer based in Los Angeles. This collection showcases her unique take on Americana sportswear and features her classic signature ZIGZAG padded paneling technique, seen on the one-piece outerwear dress and the triple breasted hooded dress. Aside from the bright mustard yellow, Lee uses a simple, neutral color palette. A range of corsets were also on display, bringing a trendy and youthful energy to the runway. This collection is comfortable and convenient, combining loose tops with shorts or asymmetrical tops with a long skirt. The closing look is the epitome of this aesthetic, featuring an oversized brown hoodie with long lace-ups and styled with white shorts. – LUNALEE https://lunaleebylunalee.com/

Dr. MAAYA is a colorful and happy label created by a Japanese neurosurgeon who later studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins. This collection was inspired by a familiar problem: opening your closet and wanting to wear everything out of indecision. This inspiration is instantly recognizable at first glance, with a poofy dress that uses smaller dresses as cap sleeves and is layered to create a skirt. There were two “rainbow” looks, where the model walked with arms outstretched to reveal an assortment of miniature hoodies and rainbow dresses hanging on tiny hangers. The closing look is inspired by the actual closet of Dr. Maaya, which features a hanging circular shelf. She has also designed special rainbow shoes that pair perfectly with any look. The label’s oversized silhouettes and playful aesthetic lit up the runway. – Dr. MAAYA https://www.dr-maaya-labo.com/

Ay Lelum is a Coast Salish design house from Snuneymuxw First Nation in Nanaimo, BC, Canada. Aunalee and Sophia Boyd-Good are a design sister duo who come from a multi-generational family of artists. This label consistently highlights the beauty of Coast Salish culture and aesthetics through gorgeous fabrics, vibrant colors and elegant silhouettes. Their flowing outerwear and a range of dresses came in muted grays and tans, but also bright pinks, electric oranges and a bright red. The show opened with a fashion film about their label, and their models walked in Coast Salish with vocals sung by the designers themselves. The closing look was a stunning yellow column dress that featured a blue hat. – Ay Lelum https://www.aylelum.com/

TheRealB is a luxury fashion label based in India and the brainchild of Binal Patel, who studied at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan. Her brand emphasizes bold styles through bespoke fashion that empowers women. This collection highlights femininity through flowing silhouettes that move beautifully on the runway. Patel isn’t afraid of color, using bright reds, pinks and oranges to create holiday-ready maxi dresses and fashion ensembles. Look four features an electric orange dress that hugs the waist perfectly, with hand-embroidered black flowers scattered across the hem. This collection also features two bags handcrafted by Patel using khatli work techniques: the shimmering silver clutch in look five and the pink bucket bag in look seven. – TheRealB https://therealb.in/
