Green shoots are seen buying winter in crypto land • TechCrunch


Now comfortably inside In Q4 2022, TechCrunch has been busy poring over a mountain of data from the third quarter, hoping to understand where the startup deal market has been, where it is now, and where it’s headed next.

So far, we’ve seen stronger-than-expected US venture capital results, a somewhat worrisome global picture, and keeping tabs on unicorns and software companies. But what about the crypto world? There is precious little good news, it turns out.

This morning, after getting this interesting data point about trade volumes from The Block in September, we went for some other good news. But almost everything we found pointed in the other direction.

Maybe it’s too early in the crypto winter to go hunting for green shoots. Likewise, this morning, we’ll look at a lot of encouraging information and close out what we can say about September. While your lease payments for a supercar may not be encouraging, it can give hope that the decentralized economy is showing enough signs of life that a recovery may be on the horizon.
