You won’t want to miss this week’s TechCrunch Live events. The startup industry is facing unprecedented headwinds, and we want to talk about it. Two events are scheduled, and we are working to reframe the talks to make them relevant in this post-SVB world.
First, Wednesday at 12:00 p.m., TC+ Principal and Equity Co-Host Alex Wilhelm is in conversation with Kleiner Perkins Partner Mamun Hamid and Thrive Global Founder and CEO Ariana Huffington. The two are long-time veterans of navigating the waters of Silicon Valley and can speak directly to unsettled founders about the future. Moreover, Huffington Company is focused on improving the safety of employees, which is itself a current topic of uncertainty in the air.
Then, on Thursday at 12:00 PM, TechCrunch Senior Security Editor Zach Whittaker spoke with Andrew Reed, a partner at Sequoia, and Christina Cacioppo, founder and CEO of Vanta. Christina Cacioppo launched Vanta in 2016 and has raised $202.95 million to date, including a $150 million Series B round that closed in October 2022. It’s fascinating to me that the company does the boring but important work around compliance and security automation.
Both of these events are free to attend. Register here. And if you’re a startup founder, register for the event and apply to pitch your company during the Pitch Practice segment of the event. Selected participants have two minutes to introduce the guests and receive four minutes of on-field feedback.
TechCrunch Live records live every Wednesday at noon Pacific.
