Over the years we’ve all seen Nawazuddin Siddiqui in versatile roles, but the actor still manages to surprise us every single time with his choices. In his upcoming film ‘HADDI’ the actor who is always game for a challenge, will be essaying the role of a transgender. As soon as the makers released Nawazuddin’s looks from the movie, the images took netizens by surprise and shook the digital world.
Zee Studios’ ‘Haddi’ has been a subject of heated conversation ever since the makers released the first asset of the film featuring the actor as a transgender woman. Given the drastic transformation, it was only natural that eyebrows were raised with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s look and the entire process of him not just looking the part but embracing the character.
Taking to social media, the makers dropped a timelapse video of Nawazuddin getting into the prosthetics of his character. In the video, we can see Nawazuddin transforming into his character and it’s fair to say that it was a long and tedious process. The actor had more than one hair stylist who worked with him throughout the shoot to create varied looks, alongside make-up artists who worked in sync to ensure that every single detail was in place. The process took close to 3 hours every single day, but worth the while to entirely transform Nawazzudin’s look.
Audiences caught a glimpse of this transformation in the video where the actor had donned a white kurta and looked completely unrecognizable by the end of the timelapse-style video.
Talking about the same, the powerhouse performer said, “As an artist, I’m always hungry for roles that push my boundaries as a performer. A big portion of that portrayal is the actual look. It’s for the very first time in my career that I spent close to 3 hours in a chair while the experts weaved their magic. The look empowered me to go out there and take this character to the next level. Haddi has truly challenged me in unimaginable ways and I can’t wait to see how audiences react to it.”
Haddi will release in 2023.
