Hokies open fall against Duke promising display


Durham, NC – Two newcomers and two returners scored victories for Virginia Tech over the weekend at the Duke Bonk Invitational. Ryan Morgan And Manuel Gonchal It shines as a single and as a double pair. Jordan Chrysostom And Alvaro Saez-Royeula Ariza added positive results for the hockey players in Durham, NC.

On Friday, September 16, Ariza started the day strong with a two-set victory. He followed up his singles showing with a doubles win with Chrysostom. The new Hawkeyes, Goncalves and Morgan teamed up for a double win as well.

Morgan and Goncalves continued their good form on Saturday, September 17 with a pair of singles victories. Chrysostom added two singles victories – one in two sets and one in three.

Ariza finished the weekend for Tech with a triple on Sunday.

The hockey Chrysostom and send Ryan Fishback On Oct. 1 to the ITA All-American event, the team will next compete at the Richmond Invitational on Oct. 7.
