How owners of Prada’s NFT Timecapsule collection can win tickets to his fashion show in September

The third edition of the NFT Timecapsule Prada Collection comes out on August 4th. Like the first two rounds, it includes a gender-neutral physical component along with a gifted NFT. However, both are under development; physical offerings are becoming more ingrained in Prada’s DNA while the utility aspect of NFTs is now being realized.

Here’s how the Prada Timecapsule Collection is blurring decades and merging digital and physical assets with experience to engage true fans of the brand on all levels.

Prints from Prada’s physical archive

Take the physical component, the poplin shirt. Underscoring Prada’s commitment to circularity, like the previous items, it is made using recycled textiles. But if you really know your Prada, this new drop will resonate beyond its durability value.

Prada fans will recognize the Frankenstein-inspired print with its lightning bolts and monster hands as the one created by artist Jeanne Detallante for the Fall 2019 menswear collection that was shown in Milan in January of that year.

Even further back than pre-pandemic, comes floral lurex silk brocade sourced from Prada’s 1950s archive and a silk llama from an archive textile from the 1920s. The shirt is also adorned with a lattice badge featuring a graphic created by studio OMA – the design studio behind Milan’s Fondazione Prada building.

Experience is everything

Now the utility aspect of gifted NFTs is also being discovered. Billed as access to unique events and experiences, Prada has announced that the first of these will be an invitation to its September fashion show taking place during Milan Fashion Week.

Each NFT has a unique serial number that corresponds to the accompanying physical item.

According to the Prada Crypted Discord channel, Holders of Prada Timecapsule NFTs (June, July and August) will be entered into a draw to win tickets. With holders only reaching 200, everyone has a good chance.

The results are in

Meanwhile, the numbers are being added up across the board. The results of the first half are increasing from year to year. As reported by WWD, retail sales, 90% of the group’s revenue, rose 26% to $1.72 billion, while overall revenue for the period rose 22 percent to $1.92 billion. Net income nearly doubled to $191 million.

The Prada Timecapsule NFT collection launched on June 2 as an evolution of the brand’s pre-existing, physical Timecapsule initiative, created in December 2019.

It falls to this day

The first drop in June was a collaboration with Cassius Hirst with black and white shirts bearing the artist’s brain scan designs, while the second edition, the July edition, included an archival Prada tulip print fabric collage, a printed brocade jacquard animal, a jacquard flower. silk brocade from an early 20th century French archive and a deco-inspired badge. Both spots sold out immediately.

The online event takes place on the first Thursday of every month with a limited edition of items on Prada’s website, available for 24 hours only. Prada’s Timecapsule NFT project is built on top of the Ethereum blockchain utilizing the technology of the Aura Blockchain Consortium.

The third drop takes place on August 4 at 3:00 p.m. CEST and consists of 50 tokens.
