AGING doesn’t require completely giving up your personal taste, and you don’t have to limit your style based on a number.
According to a style expert, as long as you follow four fashion rules, you can have the wardrobe of your dreams without worrying about looking old.
“Here’s the truth about your personal style as you age,” began personal stylist Emma Louise in a social media video that has been viewed more than 58,000 times.
“I’m a personal stylist and I’ll be styling. This is my lovely mother. We’ve put together some spring and summer outfits for her.”
What the fashion expert took into consideration when styling her mother was what she considers to be the four pillars of personal style: coloring, body shape, lifestyle and style personality.
“A lot of customers say things to me like I’m too old to wear this? I don’t know how to dress now that I’m getting older,” Emma said.
She then asserted that aging is not important to your personal style.
According to her, once you understand the colors that suit you best and the silhouettes that flatter your body shape — even if it changes — then you’ll be able to dress with much more confidence.
This is because you will know what you feel safe and comfortable in, as well as what fulfills you.
Therefore, your age becomes more and more “irrelevant” and you will not have to dress ‘old’ to compensate for your age.
Viewers flooded the comments section of Emma’s post with high praise for how the fashion guru styled her mother.
“Wow. Your mom looks incredible in those outfits. She’s so beautiful and you absolutely have her style spot on. FABULOUS,” one person wrote.
“Your mom’s style is amazing,” added a second.
“I didn’t see anything about your fabulous mum that I didn’t love! I love it all, well done,” enthused a third onlooker.
“Thanks for sharing. I’m 52 years old [old] and I’m inspired by the look,” said another.
“Awesome. Love the sandals on the first outfit,” complimented a recent person.
