In the middle of dry powder, VCs are determined to support anything but you

Seriously, anything

You had. That might be the word to sum up the venture capital market of 2022 in one word. Contradictions.

Venture funds have a track record of dry powder—applicable capital on hand—but funding is slowly dwindling. There seems to be more than ever about supporting women and people of color in the industry, yet the numbers are trending in the opposite direction. VCs publicly stated that they were focusing on companies on the path to profitability, but that wasn’t true for a minute.

So while many venture firms say they’re sitting back and waiting for prices to fall to invest this year, again, that’s largely untrue.

what will do It seems true, though, that some VCs are using this year’s uncertainty as an excuse to discuss valuations and not do the work it takes to evaluate TAM on potential investments with companies that have a real client base. Because they don’t support anyone – they support everyone but you.
