Inside Paris Men’s Fashion Week with Adamu Bulus


Fresh Face takes the Doc behind the scenes at Louis Vuitton, revealing this season’s best looks and best catering

Since starting his career in 2020, model Adamu Bulus has secured his place as one of the fastest rising talents in the industry. A returning face at Louis Vuitton, he has walked for DIOR, Moncler, Versace and Jil Sander – posing in editorials for Gucci, Bottega Veneta, NumberAND Hunger magazine (and earning a Models.com Breakout Star nomination) along the way. A pandemic-induced disruption barely slowed Bulus down. “Everything is going right, thanks to me, my agencies around the world, my casting directors and the clients I’ve worked with,” he tells Document, in the middle of Paris Men’s Fashion Week. “I’ve had a great year and I believe I will continue to break new ground.”

It is a busy stretch for everyone in the world of fashion, but for models, perhaps, above all. Between castings, edits, shows, and endless parties, Bulus found the time to chronicle his work week—revealing his best and worst moments, his dream collaborations, and his favorite looks from the Fall season. /Winter 2023.

Document Journal: Walk me through a day in the life at Fashion Week.

Adam Paul: It’s a full-body workout, going from casting to fittings – and then comes the shows and parties. It can be the busiest and most interesting time for a model.

document: How was the energy at the Louis Vuitton show?

Adam: Louis Vuitton is always so beautiful. From the collection itself to the runway set, stunning. It’s always such a joy to walk in LV. It never gets old.

document: Any pieces from the show you’d like to take home from the shelf?

Adam: Louis Vuitton basket trainers and this metallic varsity jacket.

document: Your dream label to collaborate with?

Adam: DIOR.

document: Your favorite historic runway moment?

Adam: When Kendrick Lamar complimented me while performing at Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2023.

document: What is the best part of working Fashion Week? The worst part?

Adam: The best thing would be the moment on the catwalk and meeting people. The worst is running in cold weather.

document: Paris, Milan or New York?

Adam: Paris!

document: Spring/Summer or Autumn/Winter collections?

Adam: Autumn winter.

document: Which show had the best backstage catering?

Adam: Labrum. My first time having African food backstage – jollof rice, sweet balls. It was very good.

document: How are you planning to recharge after returning home?

Adam: I’m going to go horseback riding on the beach, watch the sun go down, and spend some time with the family.
