Jeff Lewis has been designing, remodeling and building homes for over two decades. One big difference that sets him apart from others in his field is that much of Lewis’s professional career and the drama that comes with working at home has been filmed for our viewing pleasure over the past 15 years.

Lewis, 52, first made a name for himself in both the home design industry and hit reality television series. FlippingFrom 2007 to 2018, he worked on the Bravo cable channel. Four years later, Lewis returned to television, working around Los Angeles and continuing to provide the desired “nip and tucks” to his celebrity clients. On his new reality series, Lewis will be working with stars like Anthony Anderson, Fortune Feimster, Ashlee Simpson Ross and Evan Ross, Lamorne Morris, Roselyn Sanchez, Wilmer Valderrama, Melissa Rivers and Mira Sorvino. So, in what ways Hollywood Houselift Different from the setup on the previous series Flipping?

“Today’s scene is a little bit more project-oriented and client-oriented,” Lewis told me. Hollywood Houselift. “There’s less pressure to expose my private life to the level I did before – it’s a relief for me. Yes, I have some personal life, but it’s really client and project oriented.

Speaking of his personal life, Lewis took on his most important project in 2016, with now-ex Gage Edwards as Monroe decides to father a daughter instead. So, how has life changed for Lewis since becoming a father?

“When you have children, your whole day is consumed and revolves around the child,” Lewis continues. “For me, it’s nice to have my priorities changed. I feel like I have a purpose. I’ve joked about it before – it was all about me up until that point. I really feel like I have someone to work for. I’m building a lot of businesses for my daughter to secure her future and our future. This is something I never thought I’d have.” Aimee has really provided and it’s been incredibly rewarding. I think my daughter is learning that both of her dads work really hard to provide, and even if she’s a little spoiled, we work for these things. They’re not just given to us.”

Another difference with Lewis Hollywood Houselift, It’s the size of the group compared to his previous TV career. These days, his core team of home design collaborators includes his Jeff Lewis Live SiriusXM Radio co-hosts Megan Weaver, Tyler Meyercourt, Andrew Coleman and Lewis’s loyal sidekick Shane Douglas.

“I could stock my office and serve five clients at a time and really focus on those five clients,” says Lewis, discussing with me the benefits of Jeff Lewis’ design firm now focusing on smaller clients. The problem is when you have a small business and you have 20 customers, nobody is really going to be happy because when you have 20 customers, you can’t really serve anyone. When you have five [clients], you can give them the best service. “I’ve been looking at the net instead of looking at the overall numbers, so even though I’m raising less now, I’ll be making more.”

with Hollywood Houselift Finding its home last April on Amazon Freev, which switched from IMDb TV, it joins the endlessly expanding video streaming options at our fingertips today. With all 10 episodes of the first season Hollywood Houselift with Jeff Lewis Now streaming on Amazon Free, I’m curious to see how Lewis looks back on this season’s experience, and perhaps if he’s interested in returning to design more iconic homes in a second season.

“I feel like I’m in the right place and I feel very fortunate that this opportunity was presented to me when it was,” Lewis continued. “I want to see this in different seasons. I love the show, I’m happy with the show, people seem to be having fun. Amazon already asked the production company for the budget for season two, so I thought that was pretty encouraging. I have every confidence they will green light him for another season.

Looking forward to Lewis Hollywood HouseliftHis Jeff Lewis Design Company and Jeff Lewis Live On Sirius XM, I asked the rising businessman what advice he would give to his former self, Jeff Lewis. Flipping A series of in 2007, unaware of his fame and the life experiences that would soon follow him.

“That’s a very good question. I’m trying to think of doing something different. I feel like I’ve learned a lot over the past few years. Unfortunately, I have to see myself on TV in front of a national audience to get the lessons I need to learn. I am one of those people to learn the lesson. I had some issues and learned a lot about myself and grew in those 11 years. Flipping. I don’t know if I would do anything different. I don’t know if Jeff Lewis is evolved or self-aware. I had to go through all that to get to where I am today so I don’t think I even listen to myself. I had to go through all this anyway.
