The upcoming sequel of popular comedy franchise ‘Hera Pheri’ has been making a lot of buzz lately. A few days back, it was announced that Akshay Kumar has walked out of the project and a little later, Akshay himself confirmed that he is not going to be a part of ‘Hera Pheri 3’. The character of Raju is one of the most iconic roles of Akshay’s career and fans are bummed that they won’t be seeing him again on screen.
Reports also suggested that actor Kartik Aaryan has joined the cast of ‘Hera Pheri 3’ which led people to believe that he is going to replace Akshay Kumar. However, the latest buzz suggests that Kartik won’t be playing Akshay’s character. A source close to the development told ETimes, “Once it was established that Akshay would no longer be part of the Hera Pheri franchise, his character Raju was dropped completely. Hera Pheri 3 won’t have Akshay’s character. Kartik Aaryan is playing a new character which will be introduced in the third instalment of Hera Pheri.”
Apart from Kartik Aaryan, ‘Hera Pheri 3’ will also feature Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty reprising their roles from the first two films. This won’t be the first time that Kartik Aaryan has been cast in the sequel of an Akshay Kumar film. He previously played the lead in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and played a character with similar looks and mannerisms as Akshay’s character in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’.
