CTrees is launched with the goal of bringing transparency and honesty to carbon accounting
Pasadena, California, September 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Non-profit CTrees is deploying the first digital platform to calculate the carbon footprint of every tree on the planet with absolute accuracy.
Getting started COP27, the new platform offers high-precision, AI-enabled satellite data products for countries, regions, the private sector, and civil society (MRV) to measure, report, and verify both carbon emissions and all types of forests. Citris’ consistent global dataset provides a real-time picture of the carbon implications of forest conservation and restoration at local, national and global levels, ensuring accurate reporting of results in efforts to meet global climate targets.
CITY will continue to engage with carbon market stakeholders, including investors, project developers and regulators, to address questions about the carbon emissions reduction potential of forest investments and how best to offset the carbon sold. Until now, weak carbon accounting practices have fueled concerns about transparency and integrity.
