Louisiana Tech University ranks second among Louisiana’s public universities in the latest US News & World Report (USNWR) 2023 Best Colleges list.

Our research and collaborative enterprise facilitate many experiences for our students, and create a strong impact for organizations in our region.”
In addition to being named a top-ranked national university for the 12th year in a row, Louisiana Tech was ranked 163rd on USNWR’s list of top public schools in the nation’s universities.
“Louisiana Tech’s success is measured by the personal success of our students and faculty,” Guice said. “Our continued placement in rankings like US News is a testament to our collective commitment to excellence in the classroom and beyond. Next year, we will continue to focus on increasing student success and retention while maintaining our state-leading time to degree completion.
Louisiana Tech’s College of Engineering and Science and College of Business also received awards in this year’s rankings.
Undergraduate engineering programs are ranked 150 in the country, while undergraduate computer science programs are ranked 215. Undergraduate business programs are ranked 219 in the country.
Highlighting Louisiana Tech’s strong first-year retention rates, the university ranked No. 39 in USNWR’s new ranking: A+ Schools for B Students. Universities that made the list had an average freshman retention rate of at least 75 percent, a strong indicator of student satisfaction.
For the 2023 Best Colleges Rankings, USNWR evaluated an all-time top 1,500 US undergraduate institutions across 17 indicators of academic quality, graduation and retention rates, social mobility, peer review, faculty resources, student selectivity, student financial resources. , average graduate giving rate and graduate debt.
