Blacksburg, Va.- The Longwood men’s soccer team lost to the Virginia Tech Hokies 4-0 on Tuesday in Blacksburg.

How it happened:
In the first half, Virginia Tech (1-5-1) was able to capitalize on the opportunities it created, netting all four of its first 45 goals. The Lancers (1-4-2) scored the first three and the last three of the half, but ultimately couldn’t find a way on the score sheet.
In the second half, they pushed up and down both sides in search of the net. The Hokies’ best chance came early in the game when Danny Flores volleyed in a cross from Lance. Longwood presented in 76Th Minutes to a Leif VanSilke Tech goalie Connor Jordan Hyde made a wide attempt to keep Longwood off the scoreboard.
In the second part of the game, the two teams maintained their defensive positions as neither team could get past the opposing goalkeeper.

This was the ninth meeting between the two sides since Longwood became a Division I program in 2008.
The match featured 26 total shots, with Virginia Tech taking 14 of them. The Hokies outshot Longwood nine to four.
