Proudly presented by Food For Mzansi, the event on 15 and 16 September 2022 will connect top investors, funders and other stakeholders looking to partner with South Africa’s new aspects of agriculture.
The exciting program, which will be announced next month, will feature top speakers from business and agriculture. This, along with hot topics the attendees will face, including integrated financial models, climate change and land acquisition.
Ticket sales for Indaba are officially open, but organizers warn that space is limited and can only accommodate 150 people. The event will be held at the Hotel Sky Sandton, which is presented as the jewel in the crown of the African business hub. Delegates in need of accommodation will find preferential rates at a stylish hotel a stone’s throw from Sandton City Mall.
The multi-award winning agricultural publication is delighted to be hosting the Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba, says Food for Mzansi co-founder and editor-in-chief Ivor Price. Almost 30% of event tickets were sold within 48 hours of the event being announced.
“Young farmers and agripreneurs get a front-row seat to the marketplace of agricultural and agro-processing opportunities in South Africa,” he says. “In one room, they spend time with fund decision-makers – from bankers to investors. Plus, they meet the best who help them grow through partnerships and new ideas.”

Kobus Lawrence, co-founder and strategy director of Food for Zanzi, said Indaba is a great opportunity for young farmers and agripreneurs looking to extend their supply chain, find partners and financiers, and tap into new markets and value chains.
He says: “We are expecting attendees from South Africa. They will also have the opportunity to learn about modern technologies, new opportunities and financial management methods in order to grow and succeed in their agro business during the various retreats.”
Mzansi Young Farmers Indaba One-IFRA, an international press organization, follows the announcement that Food for Mzansi has won the 12th International Media Awards, less than three years after its publication.
At the recent African Digital Media Awards, Food for Zanzi’s sister publication, Health for Zanzi, was crowned the continent’s best Gen Z publication. Founded by Price and Lawrence, Food for Mzansi has been named Africa’s best digital news startup in 2019.
Young farmers and farmers who register before the end of August 2022 will only pay R500 (excluding VAT) per person. They are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation.
