Penn State Global, Graduate School announce travel grants

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — After a pandemic-induced hiatus, Penn State Global, in conjunction with the Graduate School, has relaunched the Graduate Student International Travel Grants program. Applications for 2022-23 are due by Sept. 23.

The application can be found at Penn State’s InfoReady site.

The main use of graduate student travel-grant funds is to assist students in presenting their scholarly work at international conferences or other major professional meetings. Graduate student travel grants are intended to promote Penn State’s global leadership in scholarship and international engagement.

Research, workshops, internships and other activities are not eligible for funding.

Preference for funding will be given to applications that convincingly connect to one or more of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.

Funded travel should take place between Nov. 1, 2022, through Oct. 31, 2023.

International graduate students are welcomed and encouraged to apply.

Awards are contingent upon the availability of funds and the number of applications received. Awards are contingent upon the paper/presentation having been accepted at an international conference. Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek additional funding sources, including matching funds from their campus/college/department or external funding sources. The maximum award is $1,500.
