Polestar has announced its next electric vehicle, its first SUV, the Polestar 3. The vehicle is about to enter a highly competitive market. The features offered by the vehicle are outstanding and compete with market leaders like Tesla, Rivian, Ford and others. It is offering quality design, competitive range ratings and comparative performance.
Pollstar unveiled the Pollstar 3 on Wednesday at a launch event in Copenhagen, Denmark. Polestar, owned by Geely Motors and Volvo, has offered the Polestar 2 for almost two years, with the 4, 5 and 6 vehicles all currently in development. The automaker has shared images of the Polestar 3 concept on several occasions, but this is the first time people have seen the vehicle’s launch live from the company. “Polestar 3 reimagines the SUV with premium electric performance and innovative sustainability technology. Changing the automotive landscape by putting the environment first,” Polestar described the vehicle on its official website.
In addition, there is a lot of talk about electric vehicles and production in the United States, as the Biden administration has passed several major bills to encourage not only domestic EV production, but also to encourage the purchase of EVs by consumers. However, Polestar has long since decided to build the Polestar 3 in the US, implementing its strategy in June 2021.
Premium electric performance SUV
“We build in America for Americans,” Pollstar CEO Thomas Engelett said last year. “Polestar 3 is slated to launch in 2022 as a premium electric performance SUV that will redefine SUVs in the electric age. It will also be the first Polestar vehicle to be built in the U.S. The Polestar 3 will be built at Volvo Cars’ plant in Charles, South Carolina, and is one of the most climate-responsible cars ever built.” It is meant to be one of the cars.
“Polestar 3 is a powerful electric SUV with distinctive Scandinavian design and an impressive sense of driving dynamics,” said Engelett, confirming Polestar’s plans to build the car in the U.S. “It takes our manufacturing footprint to the next level. Bringing Polestar to the United States. Proud to expand our portfolio as we continue our rapid growth.” And we’re excited.
The Polestar 3 is Volvo’s entry into EV architecture development. According to Polestar, the Polestar 3’s new, next-generation architecture is designed from the ground up for full electrification. Powered by Google’s Android Automotive OS infotainment system and featuring a high-quality safety-focused autonomous driving feature, Polestar intends to launch its unique and completely unique EV tech starting with the Polestar 3.
