Witnesses said the shooter, wearing a gray hoodie, entered the facility with two other men and shot the victim just after 1:30 a.m., police said.

The 43-year-old victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance with a chest wound and was in critical condition, police said.

A hand-painted sign on the door indicates that it is Sasse’s clearinghouse.

According to a Facebook page, the business specializes in house cleaning and operates from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

While the police report says the shooting happened during a burglary, it’s unclear how or why the business was targeted.

It is located at the back of a strip mall that is not visible from the nearby main roads.

Email and Facebook messages to the owner were not returned Tuesday morning, and no one answered calls to the business.

Police continue to investigate the case.
