Readers would be aware that the dream project of Mani Ratnam is all set to release this month. The first part of Ponniyin Selvan, PS-1 will be releasing in September and as the makers are gearing up to launch the audio of the historical drama, they announced it with a twist. And this twist turned out to be a big treat to South fans as it brings two biggest names of the Tamil industry together – Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. The two superstars were invited for launching the songs of PS-1.

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan may have shared screen space in many films in the past, but the two actors haven’t made an appearance together for quite some time now. The makers even announced about the big event on social media. Lyca Productions took to Instagram to break this news to their fans by sharing a video of onscreen moments of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in the form of a tribute video and captioned it saying, “It can’t get any bigger or better than this! Honoured to have Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan & Superstar @rajinikanth with us at our music and trailer launch function! In theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada! #PS1 #PonniyinSelvan #ManiRatnam @arrahman @madrastalkies @lyca_productions @tips.”
On the other hand, speaking of Ponniyin Selvan, the makers recently launched the look of Sobhita Dhulipala who plays the role of Vanathi. Along with that they also unveiled the first look of actors like Prakash Raj, Prabhu, and Jayaram. The film boasts of a big star cast which includes Jayam Ravi in the lead role of Ponniyin Selvan along with Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha among others. The film features the story of Chola Empire and what unfolded before Rajaraja Chola came into power. The first part, PS-1 is slated to release on September 30.
