Few months back, actor Randeep Hooda had announced that he is going to play freedom fighter Veer Savarkar in a biopic and few days back, he had shared that he has started filming for the same. Titled ‘SwatantryaVeer Savarkar’, the film will mark the debut of Randeep Hooda as a director.
Initially, filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar was supposed to helm the project but he had to walk out and was subsequently replaced by Randeep himself. Sharing a couple of photos from the first day of shoot on Twitter, Randeep wrote, “Lights, Camera HISTORY! Starting shoot for my next, @anandpandit & @officialsandipssingh’s #SwatantryaVeerSavarkar. The film is slated to release on 26th May, 2023 on the occasion of #VeerSavarkar’s 140th birth anniversary @directorsamkhan.”
Produced by Anand Pandit, the film is set to release on 26th of May, 2023 on the ocassion of 140th birthday of Veer Savarkar. Talking about Hooda, Anand Pandit said in a statement, “Our film has Randeep as a director too and that makes me feel proud. I feel privileged and honoured to be making this film.”
