Samoha, a startup developing a “cross-cloud” data collaboration platform, announced today that it has raised $12.5 million in funding from Altimeter Capital and Snowflake Ventures, among others. CEO Kamakishi Sivaramakrishnan said the cash infusion — Samoha’s first — will go toward product development and hiring. The plan is to grow the startup team from 14 developers to about 20 by the end of the year.

As far as Samoha is concerned, it leans heavily on the Snowflake Ecosystem – which isn’t exactly surprising. A native application on Snowflake, Samoha provides a codeless user interface that customers can use to access and build pure class applications. It probably depends on the industry. According to an August 2022 survey by Hub, more than half of marketing professionals have never used a data cleanroom. But Samoha’s early traction suggests there is some truth to Sivaramakrishnan’s claims.
