Superstar Shahrukh Khan is all set to make his silver screen comeback with the film ‘Pathan’ and apart from that, he is also working on Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ which is one of the most anticipated films of Bollywood right now. Since this is the first collaboration between SRK and Hirani, fans are super excited to see what these stalwarts are going to create. In a recent media interaction, Shahrukh Khan shared what the film is about and what to expect from it.
Speaking at Red Sea International Film Festival, Shahrukh said, “In English, my film would be called Donkey, it is Donkey. But the way a part of the country pronounces donkey in India, it is ‘dunki’. The Punjabis say it (donkey) like dunki… How much to tell you about the story? It is a film directed by one of the most brilliant filmmakers we have had in our country, Mr Raju Hirani. It is written by a very fantastic writer, Abhijat Joshi.”
He described ‘Dunki’ as “a story of people who want to come back home… when you finally get the calling.” For the unversed, Donkey Flight is an illegal method of emigrating to foreign countries which is often used by Indians.
Sharing what to expect from the film, Shahrukh said, “It is a comic film. His (Rajkumar Hirani) films are always a mix of comedy and a lot of emotions, and about the country. So, it is a big journey film, and it goes through different areas around the world and finally comes back home to India.”
