For the fall semester, the Business Integrity Leadership Initiative is hosting a Let’s Talk program at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, which focuses on speaking up when something seems wrong. Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to attend.
This fall’s Talk Up program, led by Cindy Mohring, founder and executive director of the Business Integrity Leadership Initiative, explores how to voice your values when something seems wrong and how to create a culture that supports it. Guest speakers will provide real-life examples and lessons learned from their experiences when faced with ethical dilemmas.
The program includes three guest speakers and a book. Semester book “Voting for Values: How to Speak Your Mind When You Know What’s Right” by Mary Gentile, Ph.D., a values-based leadership expert. Guest speakers include Gentiles and Speakers Sherron Watkins (Enron) and Erika Cheung (Theranos).
Gentiles, acclaimed author and creator of the Values Voting Curriculum, will present live via Zoom from 6-7 pm, Wednesday, September 14th. The second speaker is Watkins, who is widely known as an advocate of leadership and ethics regarding the accounting flaws of the Enron Corporation. She will present in person and live through Zoom from 6-7pm, Monday, October 10th. A third speaker, Cheng, is a key figure in the Theranos falsified medical trials scandal. Cheng, founder and executive director of Ethics in Entrepreneurial Philanthropy, will be in person via Zoom from 6-7pm, Wednesday, November 9.
