St. Ann debuts new logo with fashion show

Eighth graders at St. Ann in Arlington will kick off the school year with the school’s exclusive sweatshirt with a brand new logo unveiled at a fashion show on August 18.

“We’re launching a new logo, a refreshed logo and an exclusive eighth grade sweatshirt just for our eighth graders,” said Oriana MacGregor, the school’s director of development, enrollment and marketing.

MacGregor organized the fashion show for parents and new students. On a sunny Thursday afternoon, students walked the red carpeted runway as music filled the air and parents and students cheered them on. The fashion show featured formal, summer, winter and gym uniforms, as well as exclusive sweatshirts for eighth graders.

“We wanted to show our parents the basics, the official uniform and the summer option. That’s why we decided to do a fashion show,” said MacGregor. “I think they’re particularly excited about the PE uniform, which they wear twice a week. These are the comfortable clothes.” She added that the school will slowly update their uniforms with the new logo.

Lenka and Stephen Romeo, parents of first-grader Marcus Romeo, one of the runway models, are pleased with the new logo, saying everything has to be revamped at some point. They also believe that it is very attractive and shows more of what the spirit of Saint Anne is.

“I think parents, like in any Catholic school, want the consistency of the uniform. I know as a parent myself I’ve always loved when my sons and my daughter knew exactly what they were going to wear,” said Anthony Sahadi, the principal. “The kids have always been positive about the uniforms and the parents have always been very positive as well. “

After the fashion show, attendees enjoyed refreshments and checked out the new uniforms at a pop-up shop.
