LUBBOCK, Texas (KSBD) – Texas Tech football is offering a special deal on football tickets this week. It’s a free week for home game seats.
The promotion runs until midnight on August 7 and gives Red Raider fans the chance to score tickets at a discounted price.

“There’s no place in the country as full as this place and as loud as this place,” said senior associate athletic director Robert Jovannett.
Jovanett hopes this week for the Red Raiders’ seven home games, Jones will have AT&T Stadium ready this season.
As part of Fee Free Week, Texas Tech is waiving all service fees on tickets purchased by phone or online.
“We want to fill the stadium for seven games this year,” Jovannet said. “Anything we can do to help us get there, we want to do that.”
This promotion only adds to the anticipation of the growing Red Raider fan base since Joey McGuire was announced as the university’s new head coach in November.
“I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything like the tsunami of excitement that Coach McGuire has brought to not only this football program, but this athletic department and this campus,” Jovanette said.
Tech’s first-year head coach says there’s one sure-fire way to get fans cheering for a winning season.
“Coach McGuire always says something you can do to help,” Jovanette said. “Put your seats into the seats and fill the stadium.”
Giovanetti would help lead the West Texas Power Red Raiders to another bowl game under the lights of Jones AT&T Stadium.
“We talk about grit, blue collar, the things that make West Texas great,” Giovanetti said. “He’s what makes this football program tick, so it’s not just for Texas Tech, but for all of Lubbock and West Texas.”
It is also important to the local economy. When the Red Raiders take the field, thousands of travelers pour in, and if Lubbock residents don’t go to Jones when they leave, they fill locally owned businesses and create a small economic boost for each home game.
“We always say ‘our city, our team,'” Giovanetti said. “It’s a community and this is one way you can support the program.”
