Everyone keeps saying that New York Fashion Week is back, but this year they really mean it. The six-day program has not seen so many back-to-back shows and parties in almost three years. There are also more than a few major firsts, from Marni popping up in town to Fendi hosting a special show celebrating the 25th anniversary of its baguette bag. Tommy Hilfiger is returning to New York with a show set against the Manhattan skyline, while Collina Strada kept things interesting with a runway in the middle of a cemetery transformed into a monarch butterfly. Even Bottega Veneta is entering the New York waterfront with its newly launched Intrecciato version of The Strand bookstore.
As expected, the street style looks match the exciting energy of the week, with metallic knee-high boots, oversized Balenciaga sunglasses and every color, pattern and print you can imagine – all worn at once, of course. .
