The Carson City Historical Society will host ongoing events every Saturday at the historic Foreman-Roberts House and Carriage House located at 1207 North Carson in Carson City.

Roberts House and Carriage House are open on Sundays from 1pm to 3pm

of If dresses could talk the exhibition is currently taking place inside the Foreman-Roberts House. This exhibition covers all things fashion – at least within the Edwardian and Victorian styles. Learn the hows and whys of these designs, along with why women left their corsets behind, along with a photo exhibit of early Carson City as far back as 1900!

Inside the Carriage House, attendees can find the exhibit Notable Women of the Eagle Valleya display of paintings of “Notable Women by Prominent Local Artists.”

Also on display is an exhibit of the Nevada State Children’s Home, as well as a book written by Bonnie Nishikawa called “My Life as a Child at Home.”

Finally, there is a show of History of Chapels from the 1920s and 1930s on display in the Carriage House which is on loan from longtime Historical Society member Jo Saulisberry.

The Carson City Historical Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was formed in 1969 as the Nevada Landmarks Society to help save the Roberts House and other landmarks from demolition. Through volunteer efforts, the Foreman-Roberts House was saved. They changed our name in 2000 to the Carson City Historical Society to better serve the public.
