The Fiji Times » Fashion ‘global language’

The fashion sector employs a large group of Fijians at all stages – from production, design and marketing, said Trade, Commerce and Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya during the opening of the Great White Sharks Swimming Club – Fashion Show held last weekend in Lautoka .

“The Fijian fashion industry has been very successful both nationally and internationally,” he said. Koya said fashion has always been a form of universal language by building identities and changing the way people felt and acted.

“Fashion is dynamic and constantly changing, especially in the globalized world we live in.”

He also acknowledged a number of designers who were present to face the many challenges they faced during the pandemic.

“Your support as an industry is a great Fijian way to come together to raise money for our children who take part in the Pan Pacific Race in Hawaii and the school swimming competition in New Zealand or Australia next year .”
